BIOSYSTEMS (directly and remote-controlled)

VARIOMAG BIOSYSTEMS meet the hygiene requirements set down in safety regulations for genetic engineering, and all the criteria for stirring biological cell cultures. They have a slow-running multipole drive with direct or remote control (BIOSYSTEMS B). They have been specifically designed for mixing microcarrier cultures, culture solutions and cell suspensions without harming the cells. All the systems may be operated in normal or gas absorption incubators or - remote-controlled - in temperature-stabilized water baths. Any normal commercial Spinner flasks can be used, as well as culture flasks with their won special stirring devices.

BIOSYSTEM 1 B

Remote-controlled stirring drive with one stirring point and separate BIOMODUL 40B control unit. The control unit has a digital rev. display and interval operation. Reversible stirring direction is optional. The possibility of adjusting the stirring force can minimize the heat given off by the drive but enables viscous media to be stirred, too. The drive is hermetically sealed in a stainless steel housing and can be operated underwater. For culture flasks from 25 ml to 20 litres. Also suitable for larger bioreactors in the production field.

BIOSYSTEM 4 B

Remote-controlled multiple stirring drive with 4 stirring points in a square arrangement and a separate BIOMODUL 40B control unit. For culture flasks from 25 ml to 5 litres. Otherwise same range of use and same design as BIOSYSTEM 1B. A second BIOSYSTEM B stirring drive can be operated simultaneously.

Control units

All stirring drives based on the VARIOMAG principle operate on safe low voltage. Power units for remote-controlled drives vary in their output and convenience according to the application. Control units for heated stirring systems also include a temperature control. The appropriate control unit is provided with the stirring system ordered, except for the BIOMODUL 40B for BIOSYSTEMS B and TELEMODUL 40M and 80M for the MOBIL industrial stirring systems. Existing stirring drives can be combined with some other control units to extend the range of applications.

BIOMODUL 40 B

Control unit for all remote-controlled BIOSYSTEMS B. Soft start and smooth running, even at low speeds of 5 revs per minute. Digital preselection and display of speed. Output power, i.e. stirring force can be infinitely adjusted from 10 - 100% of nominal rating of each stirring drive (0.4 - 4 watts). This minimizes heat emission at the drives and also enables viscous media to be stirred. Gentle starting and speed reduction in interval operation. Stirring direction reversible can be activated. Additional output for connecting any BIOSYSTEM B stirring drive.
